Townhall Meeting

The Chairman of NMA Rivers State – Dr Ebbi Robinson and the secretary Dr Avunda Hope held a Townhall meeting with the executive of the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners Rivers State.

This meeting was to evaluate the issues affecting the affiliate,
and develop a synergistic working relationship with them.

Key highlights from the meeting with NAGGMDP

1. Failure of implementation of Skipping for Doctors in State employment.

2. Non-receipt of Covid Inducement allowance for Doctors in State employment.

3. Need to tackle manpower deficit in the state; the last employment was 2011.

4. Payment of outstanding 3rd party deductions for Doctors Estate that was deducted but not remitted.

5. Domestication of Hazard Allowance for Doctors in State employment.

6. The need to increase the retirement age for Doctors in State employment.

7. Post graduate study grant to motivate doctors on in-service training outside Residency.

8. The need for promotion of Doctors in State employment.

Action Points
1. NMA has requested previous documentation’s to these effect on these issues.

2. NMA is committed to presenting these issues to the appropriate quarters as soon as possible.

Our townhall meetings are an initiative geared towards bringing the leadership closer to the people.
